Offered in a tumble polished finish, the brass and titanium will darken to a nice patina over time. Both materials are virtually indestructible.

Each comb comes nicely packaged in our custom "matchbox" card stock package, suitable for gift giving or storage.

About our Italian Leather Sheaths
Our Italian leather sheaths are crafted by an artisan in New York City using Conceria La Bretagna leather. Each sheath is hand stitched with polished edges and are impeccably finished. We use an extra fine quality thread from Ritza-Germany.
About Brass
Brass was created by man thousands of years ago and has been appreciated for its strength, corrosion resistance and beautiful gold color since its discovery. The heft of the material immediately confers strength and timeless quality. Simply put, brass just feels good in your hand. Brass is non-ferromagnetic so it is often used in precision instruments; telescopes, watches, compasses, etc. Brass is a an alloy of copper, zinc and sometimes other trace elements depending on the alloy.
Brass is an excellent material for a comb. Unlike wooden or plastic, a brass comb will last for many generations with just a little care. Brass forms a natural patina depending on the environment it is in and can always be polished to maintain a bright finish. To keep your brass comb looking naturally beautiful, simply wipe it clean with a cloth and some mild soap and water.
About Titanium
Titanium was discovered in the late 1700's and named after the Titans of Greek mythology. The chemical element has the atomic number 22, hence the number 22 in the description of our titanium combs. Commercially pure titanium is equivalent in strength to common low grade steels, but when alloyed with other elements it becomes extremely strong with an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio.
We use Grade 5 titanium alloy for our combs because of its superior properties as compared to pure titanium. Grade 5 is titanium alloyed with 6% Al and 4% vanadium. This material is commonly used to manufacture medical devices, aerospace components and other parts that benefit from light weight, high strength and corrosion resistance.
